About Seruvalsar Lake

Seruvalsar Lake which is popularly known as Serloskar Lake is a really attractive lake that is situated in the outer Seraj Valley of the Kullu district nearly about 5km from the Jalori pass. You can reach this lake by a trek from Shoja or Jalori pass.

As stated earlier, Seruvalsar Lake is located at an elevation of 3,100 m and is surrounded by dense alpine forests. The water of this charismatic lake is so crystalline and clear that gives such a pleasing sight to the eyes. It is often said by people that the water of the lake has some medicinal properties.

They worship in this small temple and offer ghee to the deity placed inside the temple. It is believed that the lake is very deep and Budhi Nagin, the mother of all naga deities or goddess of snakes herself, lived in a golden palace situated at the bottom of the lake. A small temple to Budhi Nagin overlooks this beautiful lake from its Northside. This place is best for nature lovers and adventure freaks as it is enclosed by different kinds of plants and flowers. The Seruvalsar lake delivers a sense of total spiritual blissfulness to travelers. It is considered one of the most important spots of tourist destinations in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

You can reach here by trekking which starts from Jalori pass which is 5km away from the lake. It will take around 2 hours to complete the trek. During the winter season, Sereolsar experiences snowfall up to 5-8 ft. So, if you want to come here and enjoy it to the fullest, then visit during summer. For basic accommodation, small rest houses have been built so that visitors come here and take some rest. This is generally a one-day trip from Kullu if starts early in the morning.
