University
Himachal Pradesh is a state in northern India. Some universities located in Himachal Pradesh include:
- Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) in Shimla – Established in 1970, it is the oldest university in the state and offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various disciplines.
- Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry in Nauni – Founded in 1985, it is the only university in the country that is dedicated to horticulture and forestry education and research.
- Jaypee University of Information Technology in Waknaghat – Established in 2002, it is a private university that offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, management, and computer applications.
- CSK Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University in Palampur – Founded in 1978, it is a state agricultural university that offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in agriculture, horticulture, and veterinary sciences.
- National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Hamirpur – Established in 1986, it is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, science, and humanities.
- Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla
- Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in Tanda.
