GHS Shivnath was established in 1989 and is managed by the Department of Education. It is situated in a rural area within the Dehra block of Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. The school caters to students from Grades 6 to 10 and operates as a co-educational institution. It does not have an attached pre-primary section.
This government school follows the non-Ashram model and does not function as a shift-school. Hindi is the medium of instruction. The school is accessible via an all-weather road, and the academic session begins in April. School uniforms are supplied to the students.
The school operates in a government-owned building with two classrooms in good condition for instructional use and two additional rooms for non-teaching activities. A separate room is available for the headmaster or teacher. The school has a partial boundary wall and is connected to an electricity supply.
Drinking water is provided through a functional tap water system. There are separate, functional toilets for boys and girls—one each. The school has a playground and a library containing 264 books. It does not require a ramp for disabled access to classrooms.
Currently, the school does not have any computers or a computer-aided learning lab. Mid-day meals are provided and prepared on the school premises.
